Large Event Venue Opening in Midtown Manhattan
The Ziegfeld Theatre, named in honor of the impresario Florenz Ziegfeld, Jr., opened in 1969 as a single-screen movie theatre in Midtown Manhattan. Between 1969 and 2016, more world premieres of Hollywood blockbuster films were held at the Ziegfeld Theatre than any U.S. movie theatre outside of Los Angeles. In the fall of 2017, the venue will reopen as the Ziegfeld Ballroom, perhaps one of the most significant event properties in New York City.
The venue will include three floors of elegant event space for everything from corporate functions and non-profit galas to weddings, movie premieres and Broadway after-parties. A 10,000 square feet column-free ballroom can host 1,400 guests for receptions and nearly 1,000 for seated events. Additional seating is available on the balcony that overlooks the ballroom with sightlines to the stage. Balcony meeting areas will be outfitted with advanced state of the art electronic facilities and have the ability to be divisible by five.
