Arizona Cancer Foundation for Children provides critical support to families who have a child battling cancer. Their goal is to provide social, emotional and financial support directly to families managing the health and wellbeing of a loved one with pediatric cancer. Founder, Chrisie Funari, started this organization after her daughter Ava’s 3.5 year battle with cancer. Through her grief, she was inspired to start ACFC to provide assistance to Arizona families who have children with Cancer. Their assistance includes, financial support, help navigating the often complicated hospital and medical community, professional individual and family counseling, and hosting multiple family events for these brave kids and their families, where kids can be with their peers and just be kids.
Their current building is a repurposed office building. They have done an amazing job transforming this old office into a bright, kid friendly, welcoming second home for the families they serve, including an education center, teen center, art room and the kids favorite, the sunshine boutique, full of toys for kids to choose from. The Arizona Builders Alliance 2023 Leadership Development Class will be helping them complete this transformation by remodeling the existing bathrooms to be more kid friendly with child size toilets and sinks, and brighten up the design so the restrooms match the kid friendly atmosphere. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!
